The Starkey Edge AI mRIC R is equipped with Starkey’s all-new G2 Neuro Processor with an integrated neural processing unit that classifies complex soundscapes, enhances speech, and reduces noise in real-time using advanced AI. The Edge AI mRIC model is a mini receiver in canal model and is featured in three technology levels, 24, 20 and 16.

✔ Edge Mode+ On-Demand AI Processing (24, 20, 16) 

All Edge AI models include Edge Mode+, which uses AI to optimise for speech clarity or comfort in noisy environments. Activation method differs by tier: the 24 model enables faster processing and gesture/tap access (via select models), while lower tiers rely on manual or app activation.

All models run on Starkey’s next-gen chip featuring an integrated Neural Processing Unit (NPU). The 24 model executes the highest level of real-time DNN processing with 100x the performance of its predecessor. 

✔ Motion-Based Optimisation (24, 20, 16)

All tech levels benefit from sensor-driven motion detection, allowing automatic switching to omnidirectional mode and adjusting directionality when walking, running, or moving. SNR improves by up to 3 dB during motion. 

✔ All-Day Battery Life (24, 20, 16)

Both mRIC R and RIC RT models across all tech levels offer impressive battery life — up to 41 hours (or 33 with streaming) on the mRIC R, and up to 51 hours (or 45 with streaming) on the RIC RT. You get all-day power, no matter which level you choose.

The only model that enables tap-to-activate Edge Mode+, app-free user adjustments, and Apple Watch integration. All tech levels use the My Starkey app, but only 24 combines app, button, and tap access.

Only the 24 and 20 model includes the advanced Multiflex Tinnitus Pro, offering 16-channel masking, adjustable modulation, and safety alerts. Lower models have standard Multiflex masking without the advanced configuration.
