Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

What does the In-Clinic Package cover?

It includes a full diagnostic hearing assessment, ear impressions, custom prescription moulds, professional hearing-aid fitting, unlimited in-clinic follow-ups for 12 months, unlimited telehealth support for one year, an annual review, and access to our Earcosystem resources.

How is the Mobile Package different?

You receive the same clinical services as the In-Clinic Package, plus two home-visit follow-ups. Unlimited in-clinic and telehealth support are still included, giving you the flexibility to alternate between clinic, telehealth, and home appointments.

What is “unlimited telehealth” and when is it useful?

Unlimited telehealth means you can book as many video or phone consultations as you need within the first year. It’s ideal for quick troubleshooting, remote fine-tuning, app guidance, or follow-up chats when you can’t make it to the clinic.

How many follow-up appointments do I really need?

Most clients attend two to three follow-ups in the first few months, but you can book additional sessions any time during your unlimited period to fine-tune comfort, sound quality, or app features.

Are hearing aids themselves included in the package price?

The package covers all professional services and support; hearing aids are purchased separately so you can choose the exact model and technology level that suits your needs and budget.

Can I purchase the hearing aids separately without a service package?

No. We currently only supply hearing aids alongside our comprehensive service packages to ensure they’re precisely fitted, programmed and followed up. Proper assessment, custom moulding and ongoing support are essential for optimal hearing performance and comfort.

Is private health insurance or the Hearing Services Program (HSP) applicable?

Many clients can claim part of the diagnostic assessment or hearing-aid costs through private health extras, and eligible pensioners or veterans may receive HSP subsidies. We’ll supply itemised invoices to help you claim. Please do not hesitate to book a free telehealth with one of our qualified audiologists to discuss your options. BOOK HERE

When does my 12-month support period start and how do I book?

The 12-month clock starts on the day of your initial hearing-aid fitting appointment. You can book through our online calendar or via email; telehealth links are sent automatically once your booking is confirmed.

FAQ's

How do hearing aids work?

Hearing aids work by picking up sound through a microphone, amplifying the sound via an internal amplifier, and then delivering the sound to the ear through a speaker. Modern hearing aids also have advanced features to reduce background noise and focus on speech clarity.

What types of hearing aids are available?
  • There are several types of hearing aids, including:
  • Behind-the-Ear (BTE): Worn behind the ear with a tube leading to the ear canal.
  • In-the-Ear (ITE): Worn inside the outer ear, covering the entire ear.
  • In-the-Canal (ITC): Fits partially inside the ear canal.
  • Completely-in-Canal (CIC): Small and fits completely inside the ear canal.
  • Receiver-in-Canal (RIC): The receiver (speaker) sits inside the ear canal, while the rest of the device is worn behind the ear.
How do I know which hearing aid is right for me?

The type of hearing aid that is right for you depends on factors such as the severity of your hearing loss, lifestyle, and personal preferences. An audiologist can assess your hearing loss and help recommend the most suitable hearing aid based on your needs.

Are hearing aids covered by insurance?

Coverage for hearing aids varies by insurance provider and plan. Some health insurance policies may cover the cost of hearing aids, while others may offer partial reimbursement. It’s important to check with your insurance provider for specific details on coverage.

Can hearing aids connect to other devices?

Yes, many modern hearing aids offer Bluetooth connectivity, allowing them to pair with smartphones, televisions, and other devices for hands-free communication or audio streaming. You can adjust settings and control the volume via smartphone apps or remotes.

How do I clean and maintain my hearing aid?

To maintain your hearing aid, clean it regularly using a soft cloth or a hearing aid brush to remove dirt and wax buildup. Avoid using water or harsh chemicals. You should also store your hearing aid in a dry place when not in use to prevent moisture damage.
